Advisor:  Dr. Richard G. Lathrop.

Research Interests:
eastern hemlock decline due to hemlock woolly adelgid
    landscape ecology
geospatial technologies - remote sensing, GIS, GPS

For my masters thesis I mapped and monitored the 1994 condition of hemlock forest stands in northern New Jersey using Landsat Thematic Mapper satellite imagery and change detection techniques.

My Ph.D. dissertation focused on a landscape analysis of Eastern Hemlock (Tsuga canadensis) decline caused by the Hemlock Woolly Adelgid (Adelges tsugae) infestation. This introduced insect has killed thousands of acres of hemlock forest in the Northeastern USA over the past 45 years.
