Why do I like this hideous James R. Thompson Center (aka the State of Illinois Builing)? I don't know.  But I am always compelled to take more photos.  It was designed by Helmut Jahn. $173 million. 1985.They say that the floors weren't designed strong enough and so they only use half-file cabinetsJames R.
