Text: There is no required text for this course.

The Course : The Environmental Geomatics Lab is an intensive, one-credit, hands-on course. Unlike most one-credit courses, Env. Geo. Lab will require a fair amount of out of class work.  This is by no means a one credit “filler.”  You should be taking this class only if you are interested in pursuing studies in the Geomatics arena and/or are truly interested in building a foundation in GIS applications and theory.

Env. Geo. Lab will introduce students to real-world GIS applications and the industry leading Environmental System Research Institute (ESRI) software package, ArcGIS. While most of the class time will involve hands-on use of ESRI’s primary GIS software, ArcMap, some time will be spent on other products contained in the ArcGIS suite.
